Farmville by Zynga has been in the iPhone app store for a few weeks now, and like Farmville on Facebook which has over 30 million farms, Farmville for the iPhone is understandability as popular.
The first important thing about Farmville for the iPhone is that it is in sync with your Facebook Farmville account. This means, aside from not having to start all over again on the iPhone, you can take your farm with you, and with push notifications you now know when it is time to harvest your crops, from now on you have no excuse for letting them die!
It is surprisingly simple to play Farmville on the iPhone, once you get used to the controls you will find the game as entertaining as it is on facebook. The screen can be a bit sensitive to start out and you might find yourself clicking on the wrong item, however you can zoom in and out of your farm by pinching the screen which makes navigating around your farm much easier!
“Mobile devices are an extension of people’s daily social lives everywhere in the world and the Apple iPhone is the most innovative breakthrough in this area,” said Mark Pincus, founder and chief executive officer of Zynga. “We are excited to bring FarmVille to the Apple iPhone and introduce our social games to a new audience of mobile users around the world.”
Of course with this game you need an internet connection, there is no offline version and I actually found the game runs a bit smoother than the facebook flash version, with no pauses or lagging issues over my wifi network. Like the facebook version, you are still prompted to post stuff to your facebook profile, something I find a little annoying at times. And if you are willing to spend actual real money on farm cash, you can use the in-app purchase, something Zynga is sure hoping you will do.
All in all this is a job well done by Zynga, and it is hard to find fault with the controls or graphics, well worth a look, even if you just want to keep and eye on your farm on the go!
