Windows Live Messenger on 3Ireland Mobile

Technology

MSN Messenger

The Irish Indo is reporting today that Three Mobile is to launch Windows Live Messenger (aka MSN Messenger) on its network, the service was launched recently also my O2 Mobile. The service is to be free, as long as people don’t go out side their fair usage policy.

“3 is today launching Windows Live Messenger on its Irish network. The company says the service will be made available free to its monthly and prepay customers so long as they do not exceed 200 messages a day or 6,000 a month. Windows Live Messenger is one of the world’s most popular instant messaging services, with more than 260 million active accounts worldwide.

Update: The 3Ireland website has been updated with the following information, however the service does not seem to have gone live yet, this will be a very useful service and a great addition to the 3Ireland network!

3Pay customers
Free Windows Live Messenger offer available to new 3Pay customers who connect to 3 on selected handsets, and to existing 3Pay customers who download the Windows Live Messenger application. Windows Live Messenger is FREE. The number of Windows Live Messenger messages is subject to a fair use policy of 200 messages per day or 6,000 messages per month. Handset service limitations

Broadband for Everyone?

Everyone is talking about Eircom FINALLY enabling some more broadband exchanges – apparently this will cover a majority of their customers and Eircom will be committing 30 million euro to this project which will include Dublin, Galway, Limerick, Cork, and Waterford.

You really do get what you pay for with 3.
Customer service is terrible. Cover is terrible, They say they “piggy back” on the vodaphone network but I have been standing beside people with vodaphone and O2 accounts when they had perfect cover and I had no cover at all.
You cant use MMS to send pictures etc while abroad.
Really BAD serice, you always get connected to Indian call center , they have NO idea how to fix problems or deal with complaints. Reading off a script constanly.
