Blog HIT!

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Recently I have been using something called Blogexplosion.com, which really is something shameless, it allows you to browse blog’s ( admittedly most of which are those horrible live journals, which kind a freaks the bejeasus out of me) and in return it sends traffic your way, it seems to be working, but it seems to be just that hits, you know a hit as in HIT, they then leave and never return, whats the point… Many of them, and I mean many (almost most, but not quiet) are political blog’s, or rather have a lot of things to say for that “genre”, I found this rather refreshing..

As the US presidential race has been hotting up in real life, the Radio Times has conducted a poll to see which US television character readers would like to see as US president.

Around 2,000 people took part in the survey which decided that rather than having an incompetent in charge of the USA, they would like Homer Simpson to take the role. In second place came West Wing’s fictional president, Josiah Bartlett.

Homer’s manifesto in the Radio Times, written by The Simpsons scriptwriters ran: “I promise there will be fewer nuclear disasters with me as your mayor than with me as your nuclear safety inspector.”

The top ten in full:

1 - Homer Simpson (The Simpsons) (John says “hes got my vote”
2 - Josiah Bartlet (The West Wing)
3 - Dr Frasier Crane (Frasier)
4 - Sgt Bilko (The Phil Silvers Show)
5 - Gil Grissom (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation)
6 - Jack Bauer (24)
7 - Dr Cliff Huxtable (The Cosby Show)
8 - Phoebe Buffay (Friends)
9 - Tony Soprano (The Sopranos)
10 - Roseanne Conner (Roseanne)

Anyway, in some awful news, a local Girl was in a horrific accident in our village a few days, and rather that discuss the “ins and outs” like many are compelled (and don’t get me wrong, thats the way many people cope) Let us pray to the Gods for her Family….

You Know You’re a Blog Addict When… (from about.com)

… You have more blog friends than ‘real life’ friends.

… You’re blogging in your head before you fall asleep.

… You tell your friends and family things like, “I’ll ping you and you ping me back,” or “Okay, I want to trackback on your last comment…”

… you blog in your head an event that’s happening at that very moment!

… you actually take the time to figure out how to set up Active Desktop in Windows just so that you can make your Bloglines MyBlogs page your Windows background.

… and then you actually leave it that way because you like it… and you make that your browser home page.

… all of the visible entries in your browser’s links toolbar relate to blogging!
