Pope John Paul II has Passed away

Today begins the mourning which will last 3 days and nights, for Pope John Paul II. His popularity among young people was and is very high. Although his views on certain topical elements such has marriage, homosexuality, abortion were questioned, and perhaps some catholic’s felt let down.

So how do I feel about his passing. Astoundingly enough, I am shocked by my reaction, as I was upset by his passing, in the context of religion, I always felt let down by the Catholic Church, and do not consider myself a Catholic in most senses of the word, but I do have a respect it.

I will be lighting a candle for him in our local church.
