iPhone 4s

iPhone 4s
They say ‘it’s whats on the inside that counts’. At least that’s what Apple would have you believe, and I suppose there not wrong. The iPhone 4s, will punch harder than the iPhone 4 but will physically look the same.
As fanyboys shake off their disillusionment over lack of an iPhone 5, lets take stock here. The iPhone 4 looks amazing, the glass design is sleek, modern and classy. It’s a winner and still is! Upping the specs and maintain the same external hardware for another year might seem like a smart idea, and will (hopefully) allow Apple more time to work on iPhone 5 for next year. But Apple better watch out, as the competition will be circling around this one with some glee.
Still I can’t help feeling a little let down by Apple this year. I really expected a hardware refresh for the iPhone. But there is still lots to look forward to, even if you are not getting the iPhone 4s!
iOS 5 Release Date
iOS 5. Which was unveiled last year, will be available for the 3Gs, iPhone 4 from the of 12th October, and it will open up a whole new world for your iPhone. Using iCloud your iPhone will be liberated from your Mac or PC, you no longer need to connect to iTunes to activate it! A few other features of iOS include:
Notification Center: You get all kinds of notifications on your iOS device: new email, texts, friend requests, and more. With Notification Center, you can keep track of them all in one convenient location. Just swipe down from the top of any screen to enter Notification Center.
Newsstand: Read all about it. All in one place. iOS 5 organizes your magazine and newspaper app subscriptions in Newsstand: a folder that lets you access your favorite publications quickly and easily.
Reminders: Next time you think to yourself, “Don’t forget to…,” just pull out your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch and jot it down. Reminders lets you organize your life in to-do lists — complete with due dates and locations. Say you need to remember to pick up milk during your next grocery trip
iPhone 4s
As I said above, there is no hardware changes on the outside, but inside there is a number of positive improvements.
Like the iPhone 4, iPhone 4s it will be available in white, black and Irish Green. Capacity is 16, 32 or 64 GB. Apple also says it has a ‘better’ antenna which will hopefully squash reports of dropped calls which haunted the iPhone 4. The camera looks amazing, 8-megapixel with video stabilization which records HD video (1080p) up to 30 frames per second with audio! The release date for Ireland is the end of October 2011, with the UK getting it October 14.
Something which will make a noticeable difference to the operations of this device is the two cores in the A5 chip which Apple say will deliver up to two times more power and up to seven times faster graphics!
Engadget liked it, reporting:
Much in the same way that the 3GS improved the overall experience of the 3G, the 4S does likewise compared to the existing 4. The dual-core A5 chip is a laudatory improvement, and whisking about pages, loading the camera application and launching — well, just about everything — just feels zippier. As it should.
Siri
Siri looks amazing. Voice commands that work! The demos are impressive. But what is it exactly? Watch this promo video from Apple to better understand it.

Skype has a vulnerability that allows attackers steal information! (video)
If you use Skype on your iPhone or iPod touch (not sure about iPad), “a cross-site scripting vulnerability looms in the “Chat Message” window in version 3.0.1 and earlier versions”. This one is pretty serious, Skype is working on a fix, as TechCruch reports:
“We are working hard to fix this reported issue in our next planned release which we hope to roll out imminently. In the meantime we always recommend people exercise caution in only accepting friend requests from people they know and practice common sense internet security as always.”
More information, and the video from here.
Google Wallet (video)
NFC or Near field communication is on the way to smart phones next year. What is it exactly?
Near field communication, or NFC, allows for simplified transactions, data exchange, and wireless connections between two devices in close proximity to each other, usually by no more than a few centimeters. It is expected to become a widely used system for making payments by smartphone in the United States.
Based on Google’s demo of Google wallet, it will be impressive and useful. What I like about Apple is they like to watch what the competition are up to and then present an amazing superior product which will blow the rest out of the water. Let’s see what the come up with to combat Google Wallet. I’m sure also that this will be a big money maker for Apple!
Skype For iPad
If I was a suspicious sort of person, i’d say something like a video for Skype for iPad was accidentally on purpose leaked to the internet. Never the less this looks amazing.

Student sells 1st Spot in iPad 2 Line for $900 (video)
A student who has been queuing for two days for an iPad 2 has sold her spot for 900 USD. The student who plans on buying Lady Gaga tickets with the cash, started out with the intention of selling her spot.
The whole experience was inspired by an article for the iPhone 4 last year, it was “an easy way to make money” and an adventure. She sold her spot to a app developer who wanted to to get to a meeting Friday evening.
Apple’s iPad 2 will go one sale later this month.
