O2 TV – Watch Television on your O2 mobile phone!

Technology

Nokia N92 I love, as you know, to fool around with new types of technology. Mobile TV is something that interests me, I love TV and to have it on the go is pretty cool, probably more advantageous to those people who commute and regularly miss their TV shows.

I was less than impressed by Vodafones mobile TV service, as there was nothing interesting on there. It seems however, as the Irish Independent has it, that O2 Mobile is launching a pilot Mobile TV scheme, with the following Channels RTEI, TV3, Sky Sports, Sky News, Setanta Sports and the Discovery Channel, sounds good! 350 people will take part in the trial in Dublin and will be able to watch selected TV channels on the go!

If any O2 Hoffs are reading this feel free to send me a TV phone and ill gladly do a review ^_^

Karl Aherne, head of broadcast services at 02, said this was the first ever consumer trial of broadcast television to mobile phones. 02 said the trial, which runs until August 31 next, would examine the extent people watch television through the Nokia N92 Mobile TV handsets and the numbers who would potentially take-up the service.

How did the TV service pan out – is anyone still using it?

My company has launched a service where we can offer a Mobile TV Station with multiple channels – either live or looped content, with or without pay-per-view, subscription by the minute/hour/day/week/month and language driven by the country code.

It works on Symbian and Windows Mobile/Pocket. Try loading http:/198.170.74.169/freewolni into your browser to get a taster. MK
