It does look like apple is anxious to have a nice collection of apps in it’s app stores for early adopters of the new iPad.
In an email to developers recently Apple indicated they are now ready to accept apps designed for the iPad.
In the email Apple stated
“iPad will begin shipping soon and your opportunity to be part of the grand opening of the iPad App Store starts today. Submit your iPad app now for an initial review by the App Review Team and receive feedback on its readiness for the grand opening.
Submit Your App by March 27.”
What this means for the end user of the iPad, is that with a bit of luck we will have many of the applications we expect from such a device, but perhaps the expectation will be even higher for the iPad! We can see that there will be an “initial review” which might indicate a rigour process for approving these applications. Unlike the iPhone, end users will expect a wider range of functionality from applications closer to those of a PC than a handheld phone!
